Scoutabase is an editor-first platform that centralizes a richly tagged, searchable location library with media management and a drag-and-drop pitch deck builder for film and cinematography teams. It streamlines scouting, coordination and stakeholder pitches with permissioned sharing, fast visual search and production-ready integrations.
The Challenge
Location scouting for film and cinematography is fragmented, manual, and time sensitive. Teams need a single source of truth for location data, high-quality media, availability and contact information, and a way to present curated choices to producers and stakeholders. The brief was to create a premium, searchable location library and an easy way to build persuasive pitch materials without breaking established production workflows.
Our Approach
We designed an elegant, editor-first platform that combines a richly tagged location library with media management and a custom pitch deck builder. Key focus areas were expressive metadata and filters, fast visual search, and a drag-and-drop composer that assembles location media, notes and contact details into exportable decks. We prioritized a refined UX and permissioned sharing so location teams, producers and location owners can collaborate securely and present polished proposals.
The Outcome
A production-ready MVP that centralizes scouting assets and streamlines the end-to-end location workflow. The platform reduces manual coordination by consolidating location data and media into a single, shareable output, and raises the quality and clarity of pitches presented to stakeholders. The project is currently on hold while final go-to-market and partner integrations are aligned.
