The Challenge
California Nails operated a very large, complex catalog as a subsidiary of Tammy Taylor Nails before the parent company entered liquidation. The storefront needed a full modern rebuild that could reliably handle more than 11,000 distinct products while removing manual friction from pricing, catalog updates, stock management and fulfillment provider changes. The brief demanded enterprise-grade cataloging and operational automation without complicating day-to-day use for non-technical staff.
Our Approach
We delivered a ground-up WordPress redevelopment with a bespoke product and operations layer. Key elements included a normalized, supplier-agnostic product model, bulk import and sync tools, a rules-driven price list engine, and provider routing so stock sources could be swapped on demand. We focused on an intuitive admin experience, robust search and filtering for customers, performance tuning and secure checkout integrations to preserve conversion at scale.
The Outcome
The platform enabled efficient management of an 11,000+ SKU catalog with orders and supplier changes handled automatically rather than by manual intervention. Teams were able to update pricing, refresh product data, and reroute inventory sources quickly and confidently. While the parent company was later liquidated and the storefront is now offline, the solution demonstrated enterprise-level handling of large catalogs and complex supply routing during its operation.
