The Challenge
Translate handcrafted storybook art and an emotive narrative voice into a responsive, interactive web experience that preserved high-fidelity visuals and playful interactions while staying fast, accessible, and easy for non-technical collaborators to update. The project needed to bridge diverse art styles, complex animations, and branching interactions without compromising performance or the artists’ intent.
Our Approach
We partnered directly with illustrators and authors to map narrative beats and interaction opportunities, then prototyped micro-interactions and scene transitions. A modular story engine was developed to support layered animations, adaptive layouts, and a streamlined asset ingestion pipeline. Design decisions prioritized progressive enhancement, accessibility, and a content workflow so creatives could manage updates without engineering intervention.
